NU Futures is delivered at NUCASTLE, powered by Newcastle Building Society, alongside an extensive community outreach programme targeting thousands of schoolchildren and young people across the North of Tyne.
The programme provides life-changing opportunities through education and employment support for schoolchildren, teenagers, and young adults. Through one-to-one mentorship, interpersonal skill-building, inspirational apprenticeships, and work placements 100 per cent of NU Futures participants felt better prepared to find a job.

Brooklynn was ground down by years of challenges disrupting her childhood, dealing with issues around homelessness, addiction, domestic abuse and suicide as she grew up. She left school branded “unteachable” with extremely low confidence and growing social anxiety. Brooklynn was determined to support her family regardless and joined the Foundation’s Prince’s Trust TEAM programme, attending every day for 12 weeks as she began transforming her life and the lives of those around her. She transitioned to our NU Futures programme, building her employability skills and she was quickly offered two apprenticeships, choosing an accountancy role at a car dealership. Brooklynn now has a bright future ahead of her, crediting the Foundation with changing her life forever.
