Top chefs to kick off celebratory Foundation dinner

Newcastle United Foundation is thrilled to announce that Terry Laybourne, one of the North East’s best-loved and highly-regarded restaurateurs, has created the menu for their ‘125 Years United’ Dinner on 7th November at Exhibition Park.

Laybourne, whose 21 Hospitality Group owns 21Caffè Vivo, and The Broad Chare on Newcastle’s Quayside, along with Porterhouse Butcher and Grill, Saltwater Fish Company and Café 21 at Fenwick has secured the very best ingredients for the meal, which will be prepared by outstanding chefs from across the region. Terry and team will be working alongside John Adamson’s Ramside Event Catering.

Guests at the exclusive black-tie event, hosted by sports broadcaster Gabby Logan, will enjoy a fabulous bespoke menu:

Salad of Heritage Beets, Oak Smoked Salmon and Ratte Potatoes with Orange Mustard Vinaigrette
Salad of Roasted Beets, Walnut Cream and Goats Curd (v)

Angus Rump Steak, Braised Celery and Bone Marrow with Borderlaise Sauce
Autumn Vegetable Tart with Chestnuts and Truffles (v)

Fromage Blanc, Tart Apple and Vanilla Mousse with Almond and Cinnamon Streusel

Farmhouse Cheeses

The evening will recognise some of the unsung heroes achieving great things through Foundation projects as well as celebrating the Club’s 125th Anniversary.

‘125 Years United’ is supported by main sponsor First Class Supply, food sponsor Bidfood and drinks partner Carling.

Terry Laybourne, said: “I am delighted to be working alongside a great team of chefs who have given up their time to be involved in such a celebratory event for a club I’ve always supported. I am particularly pleased to see the Foundation shining a spotlight on some of the many unsung people involved in great community projects around the region.”

Yvette Thompson, Communications and Events Manager, added: “It is a real coup for us to have Terry’s support for the ‘125 Years United’ dinner. It is a really special night for the Foundation and it’s amazing to have an exclusive menu created especially for the evening.  I can’t thank Terry and his team enough for their generous support.”
