Newcastle United Foundation is making a special Christmas delivery to ensure festive fun for dozens of children across Newcastle and North Tyneside this year.

A total of 100 activity packs are being distributed before December 25 by staff at the official charity arm of Newcastle United, giving children gift bags including footballs, the official Newcastle United 2023 annual, colouring book, and activities for all the family.

Of the 100 deliveries being made, dozens are destined for primary school pupils from Byker, in Newcastle, and North Shields, in North Tyneside – all young people connected by Newcastle United Foundation’s community work across the North East.

Newcastle United’s mascot, Monty Magpie, will also be helping to spread a little extra Christmas cheer this December by surprising school children in class before handing out the activity packs with Foundation staff.

The gift-giving comes during Newcastle United Foundation’s and Newcastle United’s Helping Hand at Christmas campaign – a commitment made by the Club and its charity to support communities in need this winter.

Steve Beharall, Chief Executive of Newcastle United Foundation, said: “We are thrilled to provide young people in the region with a gift to make their Christmas extra special this year.

“We understand the financial pressures many families are facing here in the North East at the moment. We aim to ease this burden in any way we can – from Christmas gifts to warm spaces in NUCASTLE and free community sessions for all.

“Alongside Newcastle United, we remain entirely committed to ensuring those in need will always receive support when they need it most.”

The Foundation’s Christmas activity packs were made possible through vital funding from Michael Carrick Foundation and Meals & More, as well as transport provided by Arnold Clark.

With key support from each partner, Newcastle United Foundation are able to provide life-changing opportunities for young people, families and older generations across the North East.
