Newcastle United Foundation Receive Disability Football Grant
Newcastle United Foundation is delighted to have received a grant from the Boshier-Hinton Foundation to support our disability football programmes.
The Boshier-Hinton Foundation, which aims to improve quality of life for people with disabilities, learning difficulties, or sensory impairment and their families, has generously donated £1,500 to our Football For All programme.
The money will be put towards the purchase of a new power chair for the Foundation’s Power Chair Football team.
Recently staff from the Foundation and Percy Hedley Foundation embarked on a 42 mile trek along Hadrian’s Wall to also raise money for a new power chair. With the team growing, the new equipment will allow us to widen the programme to take on more participants, as well as allow the team to become more competitive.
In 2016/17, more than 2,000 disabled children and adults were able to play football through Newcastle United Foundation projects.
Rachel Bickerdike, Business Development Manager for Newcastle United Foundation said: “We are really grateful to Boshier-Hinton Foundation for their generous support of our programme. The gift will go such a long way in helping us continue and expand the important work we are doing with our participants.”
