Newcastle United Foundation Launches SSE Wildcats Girls Football Centre

Newcastle United Foundation are pleased to announce the launch of a weekly SSE Wildcats Girls Football Centre.

The initiative, designed to inspire girls aged 5-11 to get involved in football, will see a regular weekly Girls Only session at the Newcastle United First Team Training Tent, Whitley Road, Benton.

Established in 2017, SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Clubs provide girls with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised, coached sessions.

The centres are ideal for girls with little or no experience of the game to have fun engaging with sport, develop fundamental skills, try a variety of sessions, and create foundations for a lifelong love of football.

Lisa Bell, Senior Project Coordinator for Women and Girls Football at Newcastle United Foundation said: ‘The Foundation are committed to expanding women and girls football and inspiring the next generation of players and the SSE Wildcats centres are a great way to do that.’

‘It’s a safe, welcoming environment for girls who are new to the game to grow their skills and develop their confidence.’

Sessions will take place on a weekly basis from Wednesday 18th April at 4:20pm-5:20pm and cost £16 for the length of the centre. The programme will run for a total of 16 weeks.
