Intu Metrocentre Elf Run Donates 200 Christmas Presents To Children Across The North-East

Newcastle United Foundation has partnered with Intu Metrocentre and Total Racing International to donate 200 gifts to some of the most disadvantaged children in Newcastle.

The presents donated by children taking part in this year’s Intu Metrocentre Elf Run, which is a 1k run around the shopping centre, were given to the Charity who then facilitated the donation to Newcastle City Council’s Children’s Social Care Department.

Newcastle United Foundation Operations Manager, Steve Beharall, said: “Thank you to Intu Metrocentre and Total Racing International for donating the gifts to us. We’re really proud of the partnerships we have across the region and this is great example of the Foundation being able to bring together two stakeholders to make a real difference and to benefit of some of the most disadvantaged children in Newcastle.”

Newcastle City Council cabinet member for children’s services Cllr Joanne Kingsland said: “Thank you to Intu, Newcastle United Foundation and to everyone who donated these gifts after completing the Intu Metrocentre Elf Run. “There’s 200 children in Newcastle who will be having a very happy Christmas because of them. This has been a wonderful example of what can be achieved when we all work together.”

Phil Gray, the Managing Director of Total Racing International, said: “We are so proud of Elf Run and how it has become such a Christmas tradition for so many families. It means so much to us that charities benefit for fundraising and it is extra special when we know these gifts donated by children doing the Elf Run make such a real difference to children and families in the region”.
