Blakelaw Parish Council Renew Support For PL Kicks
Newcastle United Foundation is delighted to announce that Blakelaw Parish Council has renewed their support for the Premier League Kicks programme in Blakelaw.
The Council has donated £2,000 to the programme, allowing the Foundation to continue offering free football provision in the area.
Up to 130 children and young people attend the free Blakelaw session every week, and the funding will help the team to continue the great work in the parish.
Rachel Bickerdike, Business Development Manager for Newcastle United Foundation said: “We are incredibly grateful to Blakelaw Parish Council for their continued support of our Kicks programme. Their gift will go a long way to helping us continue the important work we are doing with our participants in the area.”
John Wears, Chair of Blakelaw and North Fenham Community Council, added: “The Blakelaw and North Fenham Community Council are proud to support the fantastic work of the Newcastle United Foundation. The Foundation gives local young people the opportunity to get involved with others that share their passion for football. Over the past few years we have seen this work go from strength to strength, which encourages local young people to get involved with the community”
Backed by the Premier League, Sport England, and various regional partners, PL Kicks allows the Foundation to deliver free football sessions at 12 different venues across Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead and Northumberland, 48 weeks a year.
