Arnold Clark Shows Support To Newcastle United Women
Newcastle United Foundation are pleased to announce that Arnold Clark have sponsored Newcastle United Women with a mini bus, which will be used for the sides away fixtures this season. The partnership will also allow the Foundation access to the mini bus to further its impact in the community.
The newly-created Newcastle United Women, initially formed in 1989 as Newcastle United Women’s FC, acts as a direct route for girls playing in the Foundation’s grassroots programmes to playing in the famous black and white kit.
The number of girls participating in football with Newcastle United Foundation is growing year on year. This season, almost 700 girls will play football with the Foundation as part of Premier League Girls, with 170 enrolled on an Advanced Coaching Programme led by former Newcastle United Women’s captain, Lisa Bell.
Now with Arnold Clark’s continuous support, the Foundation can continue to improve and increase engagement with the local community.
Steve Beharall, Operations Manager at Newcastle United Foundation, said: “Newcastle United Foundation is pleased to be working in partnership with Arnold Clark and we’re really grateful for their support. The mini bus will make a real difference in terms of taking groups out into the community and will be particularly useful to Newcastle United Women who will use it to travel to their away fixtures.’
Arnold Clark Chief Executive and Group Managing Director, Eddie Hawthorne added: ‘We’re absolutely delighted to be able to help the Newcastle United Women get out on the road with the donation of this minibus. We hope it makes travelling together as a team to their fixtures much easier, and, win or lose, here’s to a fantastic football season ahead for them.’
