United In Education Launch โ Celebrating Sir Bobby Robson
Newcastle United Foundation launched this seasons United in Education programme at St Jamesโ Park by celebrating the life of Newcastle legend Sir Bobby Robson with the pupils of Hebburn Lakes Primary.
60 year 5 students from the South Tyneside School engaged in the bespoke education programme where they received a guided stadium tour and participated in educational activity linked to the National Curriculum. Pupils were challenged to take on the role of a journalist and partake in a manufactured press conference scenario.ย A member of Foundation staff posed as a former player who played under the management of Sir Bobby Robson.
Following on from work completed in school the students gathered further information on the United legend before writing a newspaper article.
Miss L Davison, a teacher at Hebburn Lakes Primaryย said: ‘ The session coaches and resources were fantastic and theย work the children participated inย was linked to National Curriculum.ย It was so much better than anything I expected and the children have had an amazing day”
