NCS Team Fundraise for Disability Football Project

Our summer Foundation NCS Team 2 have raised a substantial amount of money under their Social action project for our Disability football programme. When they met to discuss their plans, they unanimously decided to raise money for the Disability project. Reggie arranged a meeting with them to outline what the project consisted of and what the children, young people and adults with a Disability in the North East get from the much needed programme.

After deliberation they decided any money they raised would go specifically to our Power Chair football project, simply because of the nature of attaining and looking after expensive Power chairs, it would be the most deserving.

They then set about working out how they would actually raise money and decided to have an indoor football tournament over 3 days for a mix of different age groups with both boys and girls. They also bought and sold a mixture of drinks and snacks for a profit over the 3 days.

Reggie Dornan said, “NCS is a tremendous national project, and the outstanding enthusiasm from both our Foundation delivery staff and the local young people who attended it over the 4 weeks was so inspiring and encouraging to see. The money will go to a worthy cause, as we look to expand the Power Chair football sessions in September to include a Junior Section this coming season” A huge well done to Alice, Melissa and the rest of our Foundation staff on a tremendous summer NCS project. The Team 2 group are going to attend a session in September to experience first-hand what their generous donation will help to do for our Power chair football participants. Thank you for all your efforts and hard work to support the Disability football project”.
