Pav Shirt Auction To Raise Funds For Foundation And St Oswald’s Hospice
Newcastle United has kindly donated the strips they wore in memory of the much loved player Pavel Srníček ahead of last season’s fixture against Arsenal, to the Foundation.
The shirts will be auctioned online with proceeds split between the Foundation and St Oswald’s Hospice, a charity nominated by Pav’s family.
The auction will run from 5.00pm on Tuesday 5th July until 5.00pm on Tuesday 12 July.
Head of Newcastle United Foundation, Kate Bradley, said: “Pav was a hugely popular figure, committed to supporting the local community and the auction of these shirts will benefit two very worthy organisations. The Foundation works with almost 50,000 disadvantaged young people and families every year so every penny raised goes towards making a real difference to their lives on the local community.”
Siobhan Sargeant, Corporate Fundraiser at St Oswald’s Hospice added: “We are so grateful to Newcastle United for the donation of football shirts to raise funds for St Oswald’s. Pavel Srníček was a valued supporter of the Hospice. We are honoured to be the charity chosen to benefit from the sale of these shirts, in his memory.
“We have to raise over £7 million each year, so support from our local community is vital to allow us to continue providing care to local adults, young people and children with incurable conditions.”
