Newcastle United Foundation Summer Holiday Courses return with robust safety measures
Newcastle United Foundation is pleased to announce the return of its Holiday Courses for summer 2020 which will operate under strict new safety measures to ensure everyone’s health and happiness.
Holiday Courses sees boys and girls of all abilities invited to learn, play and have fun on the football pitch with new friends and the Foundation’s professional coaching staff during school holidays.
As the safety and welfare of all Newcastle United Foundation participants, their families and staff remain of paramount importance, Holiday Courses this year will look slightly different.
All changes and updates to the courses in Consett, Newcastle and North Tyneside ensure sessions meet current guidance issued by the Government and Football Association regarding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Holiday Courses are open to children in Year 2 to Year 7, and will operate from Monday to Thursday as normal.
However, to ensure everyone’s safety, the Foundation has introduced three-hour sessions per day for players to join morning sessions OR afternoon sessions.
Parents and guardians are able book youngsters into morning groups from 9am until 12pm for the four-day course, or into afternoon groups from 1pm until 4pm for the week*.
For the moment, Holiday Courses will not include lunchtime supervision due to hygiene protocols on-site.
The Foundation team are accepting bookings for sessions across a four-week period from July to August, with additional venues to be announced for the remainder of the summer holidays in the coming weeks.
Andy Dobby, Newcastle United Foundation Football Development Manager, said: “We are really excited for the summer holidays and the return of our football provision at the Foundation.
“After months without any football, our coaches are looking forward to getting their boots back on and working with the young players in our area.
“Over recent weeks, we have been working hard with our partner venues to ensure we can provide the safest environment possible for our participants, their families and our staff.”
He added: “I would also like to thank parents and guardians for playing their part and taking the time to complete our Return to Play survey online which has played a key role in shaping the provision we can offer over this period.
“Whilst there will be some restrictions of what the players can do due to Government guidelines, we are confident they will still be able to have an enjoyable and high-quality experience with Newcastle United Foundation.”
