Newcastle United Foundation Is Pleased To Unveil Its Annual Review For 2016/17.

2016/17 was an exciting season for Newcastle United Foundation. More children, young people and families than ever before took part in our programmes. Our Annual Review which highlights our achievements and tells the story of some of the people we supported. You can view our Annual Review online here.

With the support, commitment and generosity of our funders and partners listed on page 15 we provided opportunities for thousands of people to play sport, to learn and to lead healthy active lives through football. Thank you especially to Newcastle United Football Club and the Premier League. We are also very grateful to Parkdean Resorts who have supported the publication of this report for the third year in a row.

The theme of our 2016/17 Annual Review is DIVERSITY. At Newcastle United Foundation we are proud to make football accessible for all. It is vital that we reflect the communities that we serve and so in this report you will read about our work with refugees, older people, girls, LGBT footballers and disabled children.

We have also taken the opportunity to reflect on where we can improve and set challenging targets. This includes creating a more diverse workforce for the future, and recruiting more women and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic coaches.

Looking ahead we have a clear plan for the next three years because we are ambitious for the communities we support. In late 2017 we launched our vision to build a new home for community sport, education and wellbeing on the site of Murray House Recreational Centre, just a goal kick from St James’ Park. Our focus now is to move this exciting project forward as fast as we can, reaching out to supporters who can join us and build a legacy for generations to come. To find out more about this project there is a special feature on the front of the Annual Review. Using the layar app on your phone or tablet, scan the front cover for a link to a film about Project Pitchside.

Hard copies of the Annual Review (with sticker pack!) are available upon request from the Foundation office or by emailing foudation@nufc.co.uk

Remember to download the Layer App to see the animated front cover, which links to our Project Pitchside film with Shola Ameobi.

ALSO: if you are involved in a Foundation project or are a Foundation supporter and would like an image from your project or team to become digital sticker please email it to elliot.gray@nufc.co.uk
