Muckle LLP Wins Inaugural Foundation Cup!

Newcastle based solicitors Muckle LLP won the inaugural Foundation Cup at St James’ Park on Monday after beating Whitley Bay Boys Club (Whites) in a thrilling final.

The 5 a side tournament was the first to take place at the home of the Magpies, with Sport Works claiming the Foundation Plate in the play offs.

Sixteen teams competed in the tournament with representatives from Muckle LLP, Sport Works, Capita, Barclays, Reece Group, Isos Housing, Bay Plastics, Tesco, Hoults, Ward Hadaway, Bond Dickinson and WBBC all involved in the group stages.

Earlier, as part of a day of fundraising for the Foundation, over 200 children aged 9-13 took part in coaching sessions sponsored by Newcastle University Business School on the hallowed turf, with many taking the chance to score a goal at the historic Gallowgate End!

Kate Bradley, Head of Newcastle United Foundation, said: “On behalf of all at the Foundation, thank you to all the families and businesses who took part in our fundraising events yesterday. Your support means we raised over £15,000 which goes directly into helping disadvantaged children, young people and families through football.

“Congratulations to Muckle LLP for winning the first Foundation Cup, to Sport Works for their victory in the Plate and all those who played their part.”
