Love Coaching? Enrol On Our Coach The Coach Course!

Are you aged 16-19 years? Do you love football? Are you looking for a career in coaching?

Kick start your career in coaching with our Coach the Coach Football course delivered in conjunction with Newcastle College

The exclusive talent recruitment programme will run for 25 weeks from September and offers bespoke training with highly qualified Foundation coaches.

The course has been specifically designed to give you the skills you need to start working in the football industry as soon as you’ve completed the course. Every participant that completes the course is guaranteed an interview with Newcastle United Foundation.

The programme will include football training alongside competitive elements and qualifications delivered by a programme of study with Newcastle College. The weeks consist of 2-3 days a week studying at Newcastle College and two days with the Foundation, working alongside coaching staff.

We are looking to recruit 16-19 year old’s with 4 GCSE’s (Grade C and above) who are hungry to learn from the best! Applicants need to have energy and enthusiasm to inspire others in the game.

What does the course entail?

  • 25 hours a week over 25 weeks
  • Football training and competitive games
  • FA Level 1 Award
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Safeguarding Children Award
  • BTEC Level 2 or 3 in Sports Coaching, Sports Development and Sport Fitness (designed by both partners)
  • Work Experience and mentoring, alongside Foundation coaching staff
  • FREE entry to monthly Coach the Coach Clinics.

Football Development Manager, Giles Sandercock said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for young people who have a love for football and see themselves with a future in coaching and developing new talent.

“The course itself plays a significant part in helping Newcastle United Foundation to identify the next generation of coaches to support the work we do in the community.

“The first intake really impressed us last year and we’re excited to see how this year’s applicants will compare.”
