Fundraiser Spotlight: Neale Carter

This week we’re shining the spotlight on one of our brilliant fundraisers – Neale Carter!

Neale, a Newcastle United supporter from Ayrshire in Scotland, is raising money for Newcastle United Foundation in preparation for our fundraising abseil off the roof of St James Park in April.

He signed up after seeing our post on Facebook and quickly set about planning his fundraising tactics! He set himself a huge target of £550 and he is well on the way to securing it.

On signing up for the abseil and his successful fundraising Neale said: “I think it is really important when asking people for donations to keep it personal. Instead of sending out a blanket email from the Just Giving Page I emailed each person individually and tailored the message to them. Once I receive a donation I also send them a personal email to say thank you.

“I’m also planning to wear a camera on my helmet so I can end everyone that has been kind enough to sponsor me a video of my experience. I’m really excited to take on the challenge – it won’t be easy!”

Kelly Foster, Newcastle United Foundation Fundraising Officer, added “We’ve had a brilliant response to the abseil and it’s amazing to see so many people keen to take part and raise money for our projects. Neale is a real fundraising force of nature and we can’t wait to meet him on the day to thank him for his superb commitment and enthusiasm.”

There is still time to sign up for the Abseil on Saturday 9th April.  Registration is £30 and we ask that  each participant raises a minimum of £150 in sponsorship. Sign up here
