Foundation Wins Silver Award At Football Business Awards

Newcastle United Foundation was awarded the silver award for Best Football Community Scheme in the Premier League at last night’s Football Business Awards in London.  

The judging panel were looking for clear commitment to the local community, its people and business, as well as innovative approaches and measurable outcomes. 
Other recognition the Foundation has achieved this year includes:
  • Sports Business Awards – Best Community Scheme in Sport – SILVER
  • NE Charity Awards – Uniquely North East Charity (Newcastle United Foundation, Foundation of Light and Middlesbrough Foundation joint application) – WINNER
  • Equality Awards – Large Organisation making a difference in the Community – FINALIST
  • Third Sector Awards – Annual Report – FINALIST
  • Football Black List – One to Watch – Foundation coach Ismael Bamba
  • Talent Match NE Awards – Achieving Together (with NE1) – FINALIST
  • Talent Match NE Awards – Outstanding Achivement – Participant Alex Leigh WINNER
  • Talent Match NE Awards – High Flier – Participant Silke Koch FINALIST

Kate Bradley, Head of Newcastle United Foundation, said: “We are delighted to have won the silver award for Best Community Scheme (Premier League) at this year’s Football Business Awards. This recognition means so much to our team, which is incredibly passionate about what they do, and who work so hard all year.
