Foundation Invites Schools To Learn More About Premier League Primary Stars
Newcastle United Foundation is inviting primary schools to St. James’ Park to learn more about our acclaimed Premier League Primary Stars Programme (PLPS).
The event, which will take place on Thursday 22nd March, from 4:30pm – 7:00pm, will bring together primary schools from across the region to hear about how the initiative can benefit the school and its pupils.
Through the programme the Foundation provide support to schools in PE, PSHE and Literacy. PLPS also creates opportunities such as the recent visit of the Premier League Trophy to Walkergate Community School.
Last year the Foundation worked with more than five thousand pupils through PLPS, in schools across Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland and Gateshead.
There will be a number of speakers on the night, including Foundation coaching and education staff, the National Literacy Trust, the Youth Sports Trust, local schools currently working in partnership with the Foundation, as well as the Premier League and the FA.
Liam Atkin, Schools Partnership Co-ordinator at Newcastle United Foundation said: ‘The Foundation has been delivering the Premier League Primary Stars initiative since 2016 and the progress we’ve seen in participating schools has been exceptional.’
‘There have been some incredible improvements in pupil’s attitude, behaviour, and learning and we’re looking to expand on this success by inviting more schools to take part in the coming year.’
Places at the event are free of charge and allocated on a first come first served basis.
