Foundation Dinner Raises A Record £53,000

Newcastle United Foundation’s Inaugural Annual Awards Fundraising Dinner, sponsored by First Class Supply, raised a record £53,000 for the charity.

Over 400 guests joined Newcastle United Manager Rafa Benitez and players at St James Park to celebrate the black and white heroes helped by Foundation programmes.  Read more about the winners here

The £53,000 profit, all of which will be reinvested into the Foundation’s work in the community, is the largest total the charity has raised from a fundraising dinner.  The success of the evening has resulted in over 25% of the tables for the 2017 event (date to be confirmed) already being sold.

Head of Newcastle United Foundation, Kate Bradley, said: “We had a fantastic evening celebrating the achievements of our participants and for the charity to raise £53,000 profit is absolutely amazing. We can do so much in the community with this money, helping people who need it most to achieve their goals through football.

“Thank you again to everyone that supported the night – we really appreciate it.  For companies to have already signed up for next year’s event is a real testament to the wonderful support we have from the business community.”

Newcastle United Foundation works with almost 50,000 children, young people and families across Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside and Northumberland each year.
