Foundation Benefits From Sport Newcastle Funding
Newcastle United Foundation has been awarded funding from Sport Newcastle to support its work with Disability and Girls Football Groups.
The funding will cover the cost of purchasing sound balls that will be used at football sessions for visually impaired and blind children that are delivered across Newcastle by the Foundation.
Sport Newcastle funds will also be used to support the recruitment and development of young female coaches which will allow level 1 coaches to work alongside our full time coaches to gain experience in schools delivering a variety of projects.
Lisa Bell, Senior Football Development Project Coordinator at Newcastle United Foundation, said: “We’re thrilled to have been given this funding by Sport Newcastle – it will make a massive difference to our work with disability and girls groups. Our Football 4 all programmes, disability and girls sessions are hugely popular and it’s brilliant for these programmes to be getting additional support.”
Malcolm Dix, President of Sport Newcastle said “Sport Newcastle is delighted to contribute towards helping young females get involved in football coaching, we are also happy to be able to help purchase specialist equipment that will be used in disability sessions delivered by Newcastle United Foundation.”
