Foundation Appoints Gillian Marshall To Development Board
Newcastle United Foundation is pleased to announce that Gillian Marshall, chief executive of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, has been appointed to our Development Board.
Gillian, whose experience in business support and finance across the UK is exceptional, has an extensive knowledge of both the public and private sectors, including international trade and finance.
Since joining the Entrepreneurs’ Forum as business development manager in May 2013, Gillian was subsequently appointed chief executive in September 2014, where she has continued her exceptional track record of supporting the region’s growth agenda. Prior to that Gillian was manager of commercial partnerships for UKTI at PA Consulting Group, with positions earlier in her career at the Business and Enterprise Group and Barclays.
The Development Board meets on a quarterly basis and is responsible for agreeing the annual development strategy of the Foundation and monitoring its progress. Significant emphasis is on actively promoting the work of Newcastle United Foundation in the community, ensuring that fundraising activities are cost effective, as well as helping to identify prospective major donors and corporate supporters.
On joining the Newcastle United Foundation Development Board, Gillian Marshall said: “It’s a real privilege to be invited to join the Development Board. The sheer volume of quality projects that Newcastle United Foundation delivers across the region is hugely impressive and the case studies I’ve seen, which show how much of a difference they make to individuals and families in our region, were a huge factor in me getting involved. I’m very much looking forward to supporting the Foundation with their ongoing aims and objectives.”
John Marshall, Chair of Newcastle United Foundation Development Board added: “We’re delighted that Gillian has agreed to join the Newcastle United Development Board. Her wealth of experience in building partnerships and business growth is a fantastic asset to our group. Her contacts will be invaluable with regard to helping promote the superb work the Foundation does and raising our profile within the wider business community; which in turn will hopefully enable us to secure more funding and develop ongoing business relationships.”
