End of Season Ebay Auction Raises £20,000

Generous Newcastle United fans from across the world helped raise over £20,000 for Newcastle United Foundation through its End of Season Ebay Auction.

Newcastle United players donated kit at the end of the season to auction online which generated interest from fans thoughout the UK and abroad.

Particularly popular were the 24 replica SkyBet Championship winning medals kindly donated by SkyBet, which raised almost £5000 in total.

Newcastle United Foundation Communications and Events Manager, Yvette Thompson, said: “This is the most successful online auction in the charity’s history and we can’t thank Newcastle United, the players and Sky Bet enough for donating the items.

“Thank you to the fans for supporting the auction and for bidding so generously. We have loved seeing the tweets and messages showing the items in their new homes!  By bidding for a piece of Newcastle United memorabilia you have helped to change people’s lives for the better. The money raised will support projects that help the most disadvantaged people in our communities achieve their goals through football.”
