Donate To Nominate

Young people from our Kicks project have been donating items of clothing and then nominating a friend to follow suit.  They have collected their donations together and have kindly handed them into the Under The Bridge homeless charity based at the Joseph Cowen Healthcare Centre.

Jenny Harrison, Healthcare Co-ordinator for the charity said:

“It’s great to see young people trying to help others in the community, donations of this type go along way and are gratefully received.”

“All donations made contribute directly to our services users here at the centre or if we cannot make the best use of them, we will ensure they are used elsewhere in another homeless project.  Anything we receive always goes to a place it is needed and appreciated.”

Laura Wilson, Project Officer at Newcastle United Foundation said:

“The young people from our Kicks project decided to make a positive contribution in their community and came up with the idea at a recent Kicks steering group meeting.  Hopefully some of these clothes can keep people who find themselves homeless a little warmer over the Christmas period.”

For more information on how you can help homeless people, including donating items of clothing please, contact Jenny Harrison from Under The Bridge on 0191 228 4929.
