Corporate Teams Wanted For Ultimate Team Building Event

Registration is now open for Newcastle United Foundation’s charity Zip Slide challenge on Saturday 11th April 2015 and we are looking for corporate teams to participate.

Be part of a zip slide team alongside your work colleagues! Not only will you get the chance to zip slide alongside the pitch at your beloved St James’ Park, you will also be supporting the Magpie’s official charity.

In 2014, corporate teams such as Santander and Zenith People entered squads for the St James’ Park Abseil, which saw them abseil off the roof of the stadium. We are now looking for teams to Zip Slide across the hallowed turf in 2015.

Alan Medcalf, General Manager at Zenith People spoke of his experience:

‘We decided to enter a team of six for the Newcastle United Foundation Abseil in 2014, all of whom were employees of Zenith People. It was a great challenge, which we all enjoyed and was a fantastic team building exercise for the group.”

“It helped us conquer our fears and raise a substantial amount for charity. We will definitely enter similar events again in the future – bring on the next challenge!”

FAQs

How much does it cost?

 

Entry fee for the zip slide is £30.00 per person which will cover the cost of staging the event. The entry fee ensures that all the money you raise in sponsorship will go to the Newcastle United Foundation.

We then ask that each person raises a minimum £150 in sponsorship (to be sent to the Foundation two weeks after the event in May 2015). We will send you a fundraising pack with lots of advice and tips on how to reach your fundraising target once you have registered. Every member of the team will receive a medal on completing the zip wire.

Who can take part?

Anyone over 12 years of age can take part. There is a weight limit of 17 stone. Due to the nature of these events and current legislation, all participants under the age of 21 must disclose their age.

 

Who runs the event and where is it?

Instruction and equipment will be provided on the day by qualified instructors from Vertical Events who will be in overall charge of the event, so no previous experience is necessary and there is no need to worry! The Zip Slide will take place at St James’ Park from Level 7 North West Stand to South West Corner, landing at the side of the pitch.

Your allocated time slot will be given before the event but will be between 10:00am and 4pm on Saturday 11th April 2015.
