Competition – Win A Copy Of Newcastle United: The Ultimate Who’s Who

Who scored in Newcastle United’s famous 5-0 win over Manchester United in 1996? Who succeeded Norman Smith as Manager in 1962?

The answers to these questions and many more are found in Newcastle United: The Ultimate Who’s Who, a encyclopaedia teaming with information about players, managers and staff past and present.

The 400-page book gives a detailed account of every player, manager, trainer, coach, director and official in Newcastle United’s history. From the club’s early origins in 1881 to the modern Premier League era, the book provides a great insight into all the clubs famous faces, as well as less familiar names including Foundation coaching staff Neil Winskill, Liam Atkin and Mark Bertram who all made appearances in black and white stripes.

The Foundation values the rich heritage of the football club, showcased in the recent Toon Times exhibition at the city’s Discovery Museum, which attracted over 300,000 visitors.  Alongside a programme of free school and community sessions, we aim to make history come to life for fans young and old. Toon Times also recognises the vital role played by key characters in the Club’s history, including William Armstrong Coulson. Regarded by many as the Club’s founder, Coulson was the captain of Stanley Cricket Club and Stanley Football Club, Coulson played an integral role in founding the football club and is the latest figure to be inducted into the Foundation’s Hall of Fame.
