Bidvest Foodservice Golf Day Raises Thousands For Foundation
Bidvest Foodservice’s Annual Golf Day raised over £5000 for Newcastle United Foundation at Ramside Hall last week.
Teams from across the region supported the day, which was also attended by Newcastle United’s Jonjo Shelvey and Foundation Patron Bob Moncur.
It was Jonjo, playing as part of the Puma team, that won Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin but the team just lost out on overall first place after a count back of the last nine.
The Rich Energy/Harry’s Bar team, which included former NUFC star Rob Elliot and former England and Durham cricketer John Morris, came home as eventual winners.
Third place went to Hartford Catering, who were just three points behind the winning scores.
David Cameron, Field Sales Manager at Bidvest Foodservice, said: “We would like to thank everyone for their support and for making our golf day such a success. We’re delighted to be donating over £5000 to Newcastle United Foundation as a result of the fundraising on the day. As proud long term supporters of the Foundation we know just how much of an impact these funds will have on the lives of so many disadvantaged people in the community.”
Kelly Foster, Fundraising Officer at Newcastle United Foundation, added: “Thank you to Bidvest Foodservice for once again selecting us as beneficiary of their annual Golf Day. It was a fantastic event and we really appreciated the opportunity to be part of it. Thank you to everyone for putting their hand in their pocket and supporting our work – your support means so much.”
