Award For Foundation Youth Programme
A Project Coordinator at the Foundation has picked up a best practice award for her work with young people in Newcastle.
Charlene Walker has won first place in the ‘mixed outlets’ category of the C Card Good Practice and Sexual Health Training Awards for the third year in a row.
Last year Charlene was awarded the Gold standard in sexual health training and is amongst a handful of youth workers to have this standard in the city.
Charlene coordinates a project called Lifestyles which provides information, advice and guidance to young people about sexual health, diet and physical activity, alcohol and drugs. The awards were based on C card contacts from the period April to March 2014 where Charlene worked with 433 young people.
