Arnold Clark and Newcastle United Women: A Winning Partnership

Arnold Clark’s support for Newcastle United Women has entered its second year.

As part of the partnership Arnold Clark have continued their support by providing the team with a mini bus, which will be used for the sides away fixtures this season.

The team have performed well so far, winning three and losing only one of their six away league matches. They currently sit 7th in the table with only six points separating them from second place Barnsley.

Since the start of the partnership last season, the Foundation has additionally used the mini bus across its programmes from PL Kicks to the Foundation’s BTEC teams, benefitting participants across the community.

Newcastle United Women inspire many of the girls on the Foundation player pathway.

The number of girls participating in football with Newcastle United Foundation is growing year on year. Last season, more than 900 girls played football with the Foundation as part of Premier League Girls, SSE Wildcats and the Foundation’s Advanced Coaching Programme led by former Newcastle United Women’s captain, Lisa Bell.

Steve Beharall, Operations Manager at Newcastle United Foundation, said: “Newcastle United Foundation is pleased to be working in partnership with Arnold Clark and we’re really grateful to have had their support for a second season.

“The mini bus makes a real difference in terms of taking groups out into the community and has been particularly useful to Newcastle United Women who will continue use it to travel to their away fixtures and hopefully continue their good form!”

Arnold Clark Chief Executive and Group Managing Director, Eddie Hawthorne added: “We’re delighted to support the Newcastle United Women’s team with a minibus again this year. Not only are they a fantastic team, but the Foundation uses the vehicle to do great work in the community, reaching out to inspire girls to play the game.

“Giving back to local communities is really important to us at Arnold Clark, so we are more than happy to help. We wish the Newcastle United Women’s team all the best for the rest of the season.”
