£2,300 Funding To Kick Start Youth Project In Berwick
Newcastle United Foundation has been awarded £2,300 from not-for-profit housing provider Four Housing’s Community Development Fund to run a number of football and lifestyle sessions in Berwick.
The Community Development Fund is awarded to groups or projects that benefit both Four Housing tenants and the local community.
The Foundation will use the funding to run its ‘Kicks’ project this month at the Berwick Swan Centre for Leisure, which will see up to 50 local young people take part in a mix of physical and classroom activities, aimed at helping them to achieve their goals through football. The classroom activities include dealing with healthy lifestyle issues and raising awareness of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse and violence.
Kate Bradley, Head of theNewcastle United Foundation, said: “We rely on grants and donations to reach into local communities, so we are very grateful for Four Housing’s Community Development Fund award. The funding will be used to deliver invaluable developmental and educational sessions, aimed at inspiring young people in the Berwick area and helping them to achieve their personal goals.”
